After Course Completion
Once you complete your personal development plan, you will move on to the next stage of your free CDL certification.
Drivers who attend CDL training will be taught by experts in the field of transportation and trained through simulators and live driving.
Your daily schedule will incorporate new skills and focus on daily areas of improvement. You will also learn the same strategies taught in the defensive driving course.
Through this program, you will learn how to be a safe, alert driver and have the expertise needed to perform your job duties as a CDL certified driver.
What You Can Do After Certification
With a Class A CDL certification, you can haul freight using a variety of DOT-approved heavy-duty trucks and combination vehicles and trailers.
You will be certified to drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Ratio (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds and over and trailers hauling 10,000 pounds and over.
With a Class A certification, drivers can haul freight across state lines and utilize the interstate travel system in a commercial manner.
You can also add add-ons to your license such as hauling hazardous materials or other specialized hauling. Many companies will even pay for these add-ons for qualified, reliable employees and even some new hires who already have a CDL certification.
